Double disappointment
Went here for a date on Feb. 22, and the experience was awful. For my work, I have lunch meetings at dozens of places, and the service and quality we received for our date was very deflating. When I asked for a dark beer recommendation, the waiter said that most of the taps are out of order, and only a small selection was available. I asked which one. She replied one porter. I asked her if it was good. She replied "It tastes like suntan lotion" How unprofessional. I ordered something else, which tasted terrible. Later, I observed the same waitress in similar interactions between my wife and other patrons. She seemed like the only one there, and she looked hurried and stressed. I also noted three young ladies at the hostess stand. They were checking their phones, and generally looked like they weren't working.
The second disappoint is that I originally emailed the manager, rather than post this review. This is a passive forum, and a private email is more professional. However, after no response for over a week, I feel the manager hasn't listened, so I'm posting it here now.
Double disappointment!
I like Bonfire, and I don't want a dive bar experience. That's why we pay a premium for food and beer. To the manager: I welcome your feedback to my comments, and I'd like to hear how you will support your staff to be more professional. .
Love the atmosphere here and all the fire places definitely a homey vibe. The pizzas are delicious and the brunch is amazing definitely recommend the biscuits and gravy and the bloody Mary bar. Nice spot to watch the football or hockey games. Definitely recommend coming here!
We met with friends at this restaurant for lunch. my friend recommended this place. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we had a fantastic feeling. The meal was great. We loved this restaurant a lot and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Warmly recommended.
Overall I doubt we'll be back. The only good thing were the walleye bites; delicious and flaky. My medium rare fillet was so rare, it jiggled. Sent it back and just asked for medium. Got it back but still way too rare, so sent it back again. What came back was so well done it was inedible. My husband had a pizza that was done on the bottom but so doughy he just ate the toppings. Definitely not worth the money anymore.
I've been here before, it's always fine. Not the best place in the cities, but probably the best place in the area. The food atmosphere and staff are all good. Today I had the HH special tots and they were really yummy.
I recommend the cowboy tacos, they were very good. I had the fruit as a side, it was your generic melon and grape combination but still good. I would recommend this over the comparable restaurants in the area for a lunch spot.
Went in for appetizers and drinks with my large family. They quickly seated all of us and had very polite service. The timing of if we needed anything was spot on. The only reason not for a 5 star is because some of the mixed cocktails we ordered were not flavorful and we're like borderline rubbing alcohol. The beer selection is small but good, I do wish they catered to more local craft beers to support their community. A little day spent on refining the cocktails and they would be firing on all cylinders.
Great service and food! We celebrated Christmas there for the second year. Thanks to the staff for a good memory.
Food was cold. Bathrooms are in dire need of repair, stall door falling off, toilet loose, paint peeling off walls, sink is cement and needs to be sealed, no way to properly clean. When the bathroom looks like that, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. If I would have seen the bathroom first, I probably wouldn't have eaten there. Definitely won't be back. Was not busy during prime dinner hour. Now I understand why!
Your lot is a death trap of ice.... I have not seen a worse lot ever. Even considering the snow events no other parking lots are like this in the area. I almost fell getting out of my vehicle and almost slid into oncoming traffic at the four-way stop. The Waitresses don't listen to you on how you order, and clearly they don't know how to talk to their contractors who take care of their lots for safety.
