Love this place! Independent films on 1 screen, 52 cozy seats, leather recliners in front row, adult beverages, and a separate, private modern lounge for smaller screenings. One of my favorite parts is rigjr before the movie begins, one of their knowledgeable staff members comes into the theatre to introduce the film and speak about the movie, actors, director, film style, etc. Be sure to get there extra early so that you do not miss that part!
The lobby/conversation hall has even been used for art gallery showings. Hands-down the best kept secret in Greater Akron! I've taken all my friends here and have purchased a membership!
The Nightlight in Akron is as cool and eclectic as it gets for chasing independent and foreign films locally in Akron, Ohio. The cream rises to the top here with informed charming staff and interesting, award winning films. Worth a check out and membership to support local cinema.
I can't help but to notice so many great reviews, then in a CPL small patches, and a few occasional one star totally negative ratings just show up. I don't know if you have a competitor, disgruntled employee, partner,or what but it seems as if someone has it out for you. I myself find it hard to believe that 99% are real between the John Smith type names, and the fact that all these bad reviewers have one review accredited to there name it seems a bit fishy. I won't even go into how there entire experience was bad,etc anyway I hope you open back up soon,so I can be there to experience what so many others seem to enjoy! Good luck
Great local non-profit theater. Art house stuff, special events, decent but slow bar staffed by volunteers. You feel good about spending money here to have cool stuff in a smaller city.
I went to this movie theater recently and nothing about it was good. Terrible staff, terrible food and despite the effort to make it seem classy, this place felt like a low rent trashy theater. The only high point about it was the movie itself (Waves). I don't recommend this place at all.
