Looks unique from the outside. Bathroom has been renovated to match a more modern look. The rest of the room is something from the early 80s. Air vent was not working properly. Spent a whole day waiting for repairs. Finally at the end of evening we were put in an upgraded suite. That was much better. There is only valet parking. $50 per day I believe.
Wasn't the best experience to be honest. Only thing "Luxury" was the money spent. My bed and room wasn't so impressive. The ceiling needed some repairing and my showers were usually just alright. I like the water temperature to be slightly hot, not scalding but above warm. Most of the features were closed due to Covid-19. Ordered out for food, restaurant over priced in my opinion. My favorite encounter is the gentleman who opens the door and greets the guests. I didn't get his name but he's always polite and accommodating. He speaks with an accent. Anyway, next time I visit Washington, DC I will stay in one of the more hotels that are more reasonable. I was taking the wifey to impress her. However, luxury doesn't always mean luxury. It just means overpriced.
The view was beautiful! The room did not seem to be fully cleaned. There was a hair in the shower and rings on the counter. And because of the price my wife and I did expect more. The portions on the breakfast were slim but tasty. I would return to hotel to see what it is capable of when in full swing.
Hotel was beautiful, great service for the most part. However got charged a 54 dollar valet charge? This was extremely misleading and unethical - for a 500 dollar a night room it would be their duty to disclose with the customer to mention that this would be charged to my room. As I pull up the valet man just took my car no questions asked. I assumed it was a free amenity since most companies would disclose that money would be taken from my card. I would hot have offered to pay 54 dollars for valet if I could have parked car myself. Unfortunately will be filing a dispute with my card company
Tough to rate a hotel in the times of Corona. Some dining was closed as well as the rooftop. But we had a great stay at the Watergate hotel. They were very accommodating with a crib and brought us a microwave also when we needed to warm baby's bottle and food. The family was treated to a great sunset on the balcony. Overall a wonderful place to stay in DC.
